Labor Conditions August 2019

The number of labor force in August 2019 was 2,366 thousand people, up 13 thousand people compared to August 2018. While the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) decreased by 0.88 percentage points.

In the past year, unemployment decreased by 3 thousand people, in line with the TPT which fell to 6.20 percent in August 2019. Judging from the level of education, TPT for Vocational High Schools (SMK) is still the highest among other education levels, amounting to 10.76 percent .

The number of employed people is 2,220 thousand, an increase of 16 thousand from August 2018. Employment has increased the percentage of the population working mainly in wholesale and retail trade (1.56 percentage points), Education Services (0.85 percentage points), and Government Administration (0.83 percentage point). While employment declined mainly in agriculture (2.80 percentage points); Construction (1.12 percentage points); and Financial Services and Insurance (0.12 percentage point).
