Consumer Price Index / Inflation October 2020

In general, the price developments for various commodities in October 2020 indicated an increase. In October 2020 there was an inflation of 0.65 percent, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 104.62 in September 2020 to 105.30 in October 2020.

Inflation that occurred in Aceh (Combined 3 Cities) occurred due to an increase in prices as indicated by an increase in the index for the expenditure group, namely: the food, beverage and tobacco group by 2.40 percent; equipment, tools and household routine maintenance group by 0.13 percent; and the health group by 0.13 percent. Expenditure groups that experienced deflation, namely: the housing, water, electricity, gas and household fuel group by 0.07 percent; the transportation group by 0.10 percent; the information, communication and financial services group of 0.09 percent; the recreation, sports, and culture group by 0.03 percent; and personal care and other services group by 0.70 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that did not change were the clothing and footwear group; education group; and food and beverage / restaurant supply groups.

The inflation rate for the calendar year (January – October 2020) is 2.38 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (October 2020 against October 2019) is 2.36 percent.
