Abstract

The total workforce in February 2021 was 2,549 thousand people, an increase of 22 thousand people compared to August 2020. In line with the increase in the number of the workforce, the Labor Force Participation Rate (TPAK) also increased by 0.04 percentage points.

The open unemployment rate (TPT) in February 2021 was 6.30 percent, a decrease of 0.29 percentage points compared to August 2020.

The working population of 2,388 thousand people, an increase of 28 thousand people from August 2020. Employment that experienced the largest percentage increase was the Accommodation and Food and Drink Provision Sector (2.13 percentage points). Meanwhile, the sector that experienced the largest decline was the Manufacturing Industry Sector (1.75 percentage points).

A total of 1,394 thousand people (58.35 percent) worked in informal activities, a decrease of 1.53 percentage points compared to August 2020.

The percentage of underemployed and part-time workers decreased by 2.49 percentage points and 0.49 percentage points, respectively, compared to August 2020.

There are 169 thousand people (4.32 percent of the working age population) who have been affected by Covid-19. Consisting of unemployment due to Covid-19 (6.8 thousand people), not the Workforce (BAK) because of Covid-19 (2.9 thousand people), temporarily unemployed because of Covid-19 (4.7 thousand people), and residents working who experienced a reduction in working hours due to Covid-19 (154 thousand people).
