The prices for various commodities in August 2021 generally showed an increase. In August 2021 there was inflation of 0.08 percent, or an increase in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) from 106.96 in July 2021 to 107.05 in August 2021.
Inflation that occurred in Aceh (Combined 3 Cities) occurred due to an increase in prices indicated by an increase in the index of expenditure groups, namely: food, beverages and tobacco by 0.29 percent; housing, water, electricity, gas and household fuel groups by 0.14 percent; health group by 0.07 percent; transportation group by 0.03 percent; education group by 0.12 percent; and the food and beverage/restaurant supply group by 0.01 percent. Expenditure groups experiencing deflation, namely: clothing and footwear group by 0.13 percent; and the personal care and other services group by 0.36 percent. Meanwhile, the expenditure groups that did not change were: equipment, equipment and household routine maintenance groups; information, communication, and financial services group; and recreational, sports, and cultural groups.
The inflation rate for the calendar year (January–August) 2021 is 0.48 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate (August 2021 versus August 2020) is 2.22 percent.
